About this assessment

Welcome to the validation interface for the Medical Researchers' AI Dependency (MRAD) Questionnaire. This study evaluates the operational metrics of a new academic instrument designed to investigate patterns of generative AI use and reliance among health sciences researchers. Your participation directly supports instrument optimization under standardized test-development methodologies (AMEE Guide No. 87). Your responses will be securely stored for research analysis and handled confidentially.

Note on scale length

The survey item pool is intentionally larger during this initial pilot phase to support subsequent exploratory factor analysis; the final tool will be significantly shortened based on these data parameters.

How this report is structured

To ensure psychometric integrity and prevent response bias, the 40 items you evaluated were scrambled randomly into a single mixed list. Architecturally, this instrument is built on a dual-path continuum comprised of two distinct macro domains: Functional Scaffolding (20 items) and Dysfunctional Reliance (20 items). Each of these contains further sub-constructs.

Your scores for each sub-construct are computed as an arithmetic mean (average) ranging from 1.0 to 5.0. A score of 5.0 indicates absolute agreement across all items within that specific behavioral cluster, 3.0 represents a neutral baseline, and 1.0 indicates absolute disagreement.
